Assembly FAQsUpdated 2 years ago

Modular Wall Kits only

How is it Assembled?

Our wall kits are designed to be completely DIY. Two people can typically assemble and install any of our wall kits in 90 minutes or less, with little to no tools needed.

Note that a drill and/or screwdriver is recommended for installing the accordion doors and mounting the wall kit to your existing walls.

You can go to our Assembly Guides section to find all our assembly guides.

What screws do I need for the Mounting Brackets?

Anything longer than 1.25” will work. Just needs to be long enough to get through the bracket and the fiberglass wall panel.

The L-Channels and the panels can be fastened by whatever simple fasteners you use so it is more about the material you are fastening them to. For traditional interiors, drywall & wood, you can use #2 drywall screws or self-tapping machine screws. But for concrete block or masonry, you may need a more specialized fastener.

What's the difference between mounted and freestanding?

Mounted walls come with 4 ft-long wall mounting channels, that are attached to your existing walls, and each end of our walls with a few screws, to create a very secure and stable wall.

Free-standing walls are stabilized using anchor panels at each end, which gives a lot of stability on its own, especially for L and U-shaped walls. I would, however, highly recommend going for our mounted walls for maximum stability.

Do you come out to install the walls?

This is all DIY! Our dividers have been designed with simplicity in mind, making assembly a breeze! We provide comprehensive step-by-step guides that walk you through the process, ensuring a hassle-free setup. In fact, our customers typically find it takes only a few hours to complete the entire assembly.

For your convenience, we included assembly guides that provide detailed instructions on how to effortlessly connect the panels. This guide will help you create your ideal space with ease.

What can I do to cover the gap between the wall and our ceiling?

We don’t recommend covering this gap, as it is useful for airflow, as well as to make sure your smoke detectors are still functioning properly.

If you want to minimize the gap, we recommend going to your local home/hardware store and finding some foam blocks or similar that you can lay on top of the wall. The wall is 3” thick, so you will be able to lay something flat on top.

Can I cut the panels/door?

We usually don't recommend cutting in the panels simply because we don't have the expertise in how to do it, and potentially it could destabilize the wall, depending on where it is. The other thing with cutting in the panels is that it forfeits any manufacturer's warranty on that specific panel (not the rest of your panels). But with that said, you would not be the first customer to do it.
